Happening at Bowling Green!

  • Thursday Story Times
    • Toddlers ages 0-2 at 10 - 10:15 am
    • Preschool ages 2-5 at 10:30 - 11 am
  • Petroglyph Painting (Ages 13+)
    • Tuesday, June 23rd, 11am - 12pm 
      Create a miniature cave painting using acrylic paints on smooth rocks.
  • Dinolympics (Ages 8+)
    • Monday, June 29th, 2- 3pm
      Compete in the 2026 Dinolympics! Various activities and fun for all.
  • Stratigraphy Sand Art (Ages 13+)
    • Monday, July 6th, 2 - 3pm
      Create layered sand art and learn about the geological study of rock layers (strata) and their relationship to the Earth's time scale.
  • Paint Night (Ages 18+)
    • June 17th, July 1st, and July 15th from 5 - 7 pm
      Create an acrylic painting! Stencils and example printouts available. Painting materials provided. Smocks not provided. Sign-up required
  • Hatch-A Saurus (Ages 8+)
    • Tuesday, July 14th, 1 - 2pm
      Hatch your own baby dinosaur from a fizzy egg! Supplies limited. Sign-up required

  • Walk-in Crafts
    • Crafts will be available for tween and teenage patrons to do at the library.
  • Dinosaur Adoption
    • Come by the library and adopt your very own dinosaur.
  • Food and Fun with Beth Jimenez
    • June 11th at 10 am
  • Dinosaur Themed Scavenger Hunt
    • Find all the dinosaur themed pictures and receive a small prize. The scavenger hunt changes each week, so come back and find the pictures again.
  • Introduction to Engineering Drawing and Architectural Model Making
    • Wednesdays, June 10th - July 15th at 1:30 - 2pm
      Space is limited and sign-up is required

Kickoff Summer Reading with Caroline County Library by Joining us for a fun and informative session learning about Spouticus, the whale fossil discovered in Martin Marietta Carmel Church Quarry in 1990! Presented by the Virginia Museum of Natural HIstory. Special thank you to the Caroline County Departments of Tourism and Economic Deveopment.

Birds of Prey
