Good morning everyone!
Happy First Day of School to all the high school and middle school students at CCPS! For those students, as well as the students from the elementary, primary, private schools, and homeschoolers that have already started or haven’t started yet, this school year is definitely going to be different. With the emphasis on virtual learning, I wanted to make sure that you know about all the resources that the library has to offer.
If you haven’t checked out our e-resources, now is the time! OverDrive and EBSCO have e-books and e-audiobooks on a ton of subjects or just for fun books too. Looking for some games and activities- World Book Early Learning is the place for you. Rocket Languages can help you with your foreign language classes. All of these resources are free to use with your library card; you just need your card number and pin!
Check all these out on our website- https://carolinelibrary.org/e-resources-2/
Wi-Fi and Computers at the Library
Public Wi-Fi and computers are available for use at all of our library branches, but there are several things to keep in mind if you’re planning a visit to the library.
- The only way to guarantee a computer station is to make an appointment. These appointments are for one hour and can only be made once a day.
- Seating inside the library is extremely limited in order to maintain social distancing. If no seats are available inside the library, you can still use the Wi-Fi from the parking lot.
- Kids are always welcome at the library, but anyone 12 years old or younger will need to be accompanied by an adult while they’re here. Any child left unattended multiple times may be temporarily banned from visiting the library.
- For now, our hours are still limited to 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday. If you need to use the internet, but can’t make it during those hours, you can still use our public Wi-Fi from outside the building. Log on instructions are normally posted on the doors.
One more thing- if you haven’t completed your 2020 Census, do it soon! The deadline has been moved to September 30th. This information is used to determine school and library funding levels for the next 10 years!
We hope that all our local students have an excellent and healthy school year!
